Media Update on Vegetable Supply Situation in Singapore

MEDIA UPDATE ON VEGETABLE SUPPLY SITUATION IN SINGAPORE

1          Singapore’s supply of vegetables remained normal.  From 3 pm yesterday to 3 pm today, 404 tonnes of fresh vegetables were imported from Malaysia, representing 91% of the normal volume of vegetables imported. The fall in import volume is due to market adjustment to recent oversupply of vegetables. There were 182 approved suppliers of Malaysian vegetables to Singapore.

2         There continued to be active trading of vegetables at the secondary distribution sites at Toa Payoh and Eunos. Last night, 25 stalls were operating at Toa Payoh, and 5 stalls were operating at Eunos.
